Introducing RAEMI™: A Breakthrough Model for Correcting Racial Bias in Mortality Estimates

Writer: Cynthia AdinigCynthia Adinig

For decades, racial disparities in excess mortality reporting have distorted our understanding of the true impact of pandemics on marginalized communities. Existing models, like those used by the CDC, fail to account for the systemic underreporting of deaths among Black, Indigenous, and Latino populations. This has led to flawed public health responses, resource misallocation, and an ongoing erasure of the lives lost in marginalized communities.

To address this long-standing issue, I developed the Racially Adjusted Excess Mortality Index (RAEMI™), a proprietary framework designed to correct racial underreporting in mortality estimates.

Why RAEMI™ is Necessary

RAEMI™ goes beyond traditional excess mortality calculations by incorporating historically omitted data sources. Through rigorous validation across multiple pandemics, including COVID-19, H1N1, and the 1918 Influenza Pandemic, RAEMI™ has consistently demonstrated that official excess mortality figures underestimate deaths in marginalized communities by a significant percentage.

RAEMI™ is Proprietary & Exclusive to My Research

RAEMI™ is not open-source or publicly available. It is an exclusive methodology that I have developed, tested, and validated using multiple datasets across different pandemics. The RAEMI™ framework, its calculations, and its full methodology remain proprietary and are not publicly disclosed.

  • RAEMI™ is owned exclusively by me, Cynthia Adinig.

  • All licensing, permissions, and applications of RAEMI™ must go directly through me.

  • RAEMI™ is not to be used, replicated, or applied without my explicit authorization.

Opportunities for Collaboration & Licensing

RAEMI™ has the potential to transform mortality tracking and racial health equity research in academic, policy, and public health spaces. However, any institution, researcher, or organization interested in utilizing RAEMI™ must enter into a formal licensing agreement with me.

I am open to:

  • Exclusive research collaborations with institutions interested in applying RAEMI™

  • Government & policy partnerships to integrate RAEMI™ into health equity initiatives

  • Strategic licensing agreements for those who wish to use RAEMI™ in mortality modeling

Final Note: RAEMI™ is Protected & Enforced

By publicly establishing RAEMI™ as my proprietary framework, I am asserting my ownership and intellectual property rights under common law trademark. Unauthorized use, duplication, or misrepresentation of RAEMI™ will be subject to legal enforcement. This is a groundbreaking advancement in mortality research and racial equity, and I look forward to working with the right partners to ensure its ethical and impactful application.
